It was an unexpected privilege for a pair of South Africans to be invited to join the writer’s room at BFP. It also made President Biden our first non-agency RUNT client. Our job was to synthesise technical points of policy into simple, engaging scripts that could be produced on a shoestring, using only file footage and existing Biden speeches. Usually within 24 to 48 hours. No sweat. This is the result of one of many scripts, called ‘Impossible Choices’, for the Medicare/Seniors track. We often joke that this spot was the straw that broke fascism’s back. But what if it was?
